House Afrika has swooped to bring South Africa one of the most anticipated releases of the year, Jazzuelle’s debut full-length ‘Circles’.

The 11-track album is getting an international release on Germany’s Get Physical label – testament to how big this Cape Town-born, Joburg-based DJ/producer has become.

Since serving for the revered Red Bull Music Academy in 2013, Jazzuelle has played Sonar and Glastonbury, and his recorded output has landed on plenty labels, including Fred Everything’s Lazy Days Recordings, Berlin’s Foliage Records, and Martin Atjazz Iverson’s Atjazz Record Company.

IDM Mag had given him the title of “South Africa’s Best Kept Secret”, but that’s certainly not true anymore – he’s up there with Black Coffee as one of Mzansi’s biggest international stars. And the caliber of collaborators on this album is nothing short of staggering.

The names include Da Capo, Charles Webster, Matthias Vogt, Card On Spokes feat. LUMA, Fred Everything, and Lars Behrenroth with Tamara Dey. This latter cut is already causing quite a stir, but it’ll be just one amongst many as people discover this wide-ranging record.

Rather than just bangers – though there are a few on display here – ‘Circles’ shows off a more restrained and brainy producer. This is an artist who operates in house but approaches it with a sense of soul and groove, folding elements of electronica and jazz into the mix.

“Circles’ is certainly one of the most exciting SA albums of 2017.
